About This Position

ChordexBio is building a distributed network of expert Research Consultants to support the scientific credibility, technical development, and user success of our growing suite of life science and programmable biology platforms. If you are a researcher, scientist, or technical expert who wants to turn your domain knowledge into meaningful freelance work, this role is designed for you.

As a Research Consultant, you will provide specialized expertise to ChordexBio and its clients — supporting platform validation, user onboarding guidance, scientific content development, technical reviews, methodology consulting, or domain-specific insights that strengthen the research value of our products or that of our clients.

Responsibilities

1. Provide expert scientific review and input on ChordexBio platform features, workflows, services or scientific content as requested
2. Consult on research methodology, experimental design, biologic construct design, or data interpretation relevant to ChordexBio products
3. Support user success by providing technical guidance, onboarding assistance, or domain Q&A for platform users in your area of expertise
4. Contribute to the development of scientific documentation, white papers, use case narratives, or knowledge base content
5. Identify research trends, emerging scientific challenges, or gaps in the field that ChordexBio platforms could address
6. Collaborate with ChordexBio's internal team on product improvement based on real-world research use cases
7. Participate in virtual consultations, review sessions, or advisory discussions as scheduled
8. Participate in client-based engagements

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline; advanced degree (Master's, PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent) strongly preferred
2. Demonstrable expertise in one or more relevant research domains: biology, biochemistry, molecular science, data science, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, pharmaceutical science, biomedical engineering, or closely related field
3. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills rooted in the scientific method
4. Ability to communicate complex research concepts clearly in written and verbal English
5. Comfort working in a remote, asynchronous, and self-directed environment
6. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), cloud research platforms, bioinformatics tools, or R&D project management is advantageous
7. Track record of research output (publications, presentations, projects) is a significant plus

REQUIREMENTS:
1. An active or former academic researcher, lab student, postdoctoral fellow, or PhD candidate looking for meaningful applied science work
2. A lab scientist or research associate with hands-on experience in biological or analytical workflows
3. A data scientist, bioinformatician, or computational researcher with experience in life sciences applications
4. A scientific writer, regulatory consultant, or methodology expert with a strong STEM background
5. A biotech professional interested in contributing scientific perspective to platform development
6. A clinical researcher, translational scientist, or medical scientist with relevant domain expertise
